Our Services

The KU CEE offers teacher training and graduate credit courses that demonstrate basic economic concepts and methods for integrating these concepts into classroom activities. KU CEE programs provide teachers with high-quality methods and materials based on concepts assessed in the Kansas Social Studies Assessment.

Credit Courses and Workshops

The KU CEE offers a variety of inservice events and credit courses for K-12 teachers. Formats vary from semester-long classes to one-day workshops, summer programs and online courses. Through its affiliation with the Kansas Council on Economic Education, the KU CEE is able to offer teacher tuition discounts for Kansas certified teachers currently under contract with a Kansas district. Teachers can participate in training for professional development and continuing education, or for Masters level credit in a degree program.

Teaching Materials

Through its affiliation with the National Council on Economic Education, the KU CEE offers discounts on high-quality curriculum guides, videos and CD-ROMs designed to enhance economic instruction at all K-12 levels. Many of these materials are available for check-out at the KUCEE lending library on the KU Lawrence campus.

Consultations

KU CEE staff are available for individualized consultations to help teachers plan lessons and examine resources for integrating economic education into their curriculum and address the Kansas Social Studies standards.
