Scenario: Someone posts a Facebook status, moving in with my S.O. a person you know to be very abusive. I would try to discretely talk to them. I'm not going to intervene assertively unless it's someone I care for deeply, else, I would just extend my hand to them. That sounds kinda lame, I realize it as I'm writing this down. But kinda true. I would like to help them without being anyone's knight in shining armor. Part of me thinks that people should be responsible for themselves. Does that make me selfish?
